Bye-bye Stress

When I feel overwhelmed by stress, brought about by too much work or worries, I go to the beach. There I take the time to sit on the sand and stare into nothingness, marveling at the sea, passing time just looking at the wonders of nature coming into play. I bask at the rebellious thought of doing nothing, escaping, while on any given day in the city a millisecond is spent doing something anything that would make me one step closer to ticking an entry in my to-do list.

Wine Auction

One time, while watching TV, I decided to switch the channel to a lifestyle channel. The show was about wine pairings. And as the show progresses, I realized that their main topic for that episode was wine auction. Is there any such thing like wine auction?! Well, I have never been into that kind of gathering, good thing the host explained it very well. She said that those wine that were auctioned are those very old wines which are almost extinct and you can no longer find the same kind of wine at any store. Whew! I never thought that wines could also be as expensive as antiques.

Mongo Pao Hmm

Another Chinese delicacy that is popular in the Philippines that I also love to eat is the “siopao”. It’s steamed bread, as I describe it, which is stuffed with meat like pork and chicken, various vegetables and chicken eggs. It’s very health and it’s a very good source of protein. In fact, I would consider it a meal substitute because the bread is already a good source of carbohydrates. But if one is vegetarian, I recommend this “Mongo Pao”. It looks very similar to Siopao but the difference is the stuff. Instead of stuffing in meat, they stuff mung bean paste inside it. And I loved it more than the original Siopao. And it’s cheaper too. It costs 50% cheaper, so you can save more while having the same great taste and getting the equal amount of protein at less calories and fat.

Guilt is My Best Friend

Guilt has been my best friend since, well, forever. If I didn’t finish my food I felt guilty because some other child had nothing but watered-down rice to eat. If I didn’t do well in school, I felt guilty for disappointing my parents and wasting their money. If I went out with a boy and refused to “give in,” I felt guilty for hurting his feelings. Yes, I always feel guilty. I don’t blame it to anyone too.

Loving Stupidly

I really salute those people who tend to continue loving another person who don’t even appreciate them. I idolize them for their patience. But sometimes, I just thought that they’re too martyr’s to the point that they really look stupid. Loving someone who does not care is like hugging a cactus. You know it is alive but it wouldn’t give you any reaction. And the tighter you hug it, the greater is the pain that you will feel. Girls shouldn’t be the one running after boys and girls should always think of your self first before thinking about indifferent and hard-headed guys!

Memory Gap

Most of the time, in relationships, girls are really the one who are more particular with dates, whether it’s the monthsary, birthdays or anniversaries. Boys really don’t mind about it. Maybe it’s because they are thinking of a lot of things. And that includes other girls! Just kidding! But seriously speaking, it has never been a question of who forgets. But sometimes, there is a definite pain on being the only one who remembers everything. I just hope that boys could ponder about this and learn to appreciate what their girl does for them.

Junking Junk Food

Scraps or throwaways are called junk. There’s a reason certain foods are called junk—tasty, convenient, cheap but they contribute very little especially to a growing child. Junk foods hardly fulfill the body’s needs for vitamins, minerals, and trace elements; and they replace nutrient-rich food. Taken in excess, junk food can cause serious health problems. Junk food is loaded with carbohydrates—simple types that fill up tummies and give quick energy, like those in instant noodles and chips.
